Google had an amazing social networking platform – Orkut. It was popular in India and Brazil. However, Google didn’t properly leverage it to compete in social media battleground. Google Layoffs

Google laid off more employees last week. It let go 3000 contract employees and 300 full time employees. Analysts expect more layoffs to come from Google in the future. The company also closed two regional offices in Michigan and Colorado. When the employees are terminated ruthlessly, executive managers take big money home even when they are terminated. Polio in India?

We forgot the polio long time ago. We think that it’s eradicated from the world. According to polioeradicatio.org, 518 polio cases were detected in this year alone. Google.org launched an initiative to prevent polio. As a part of their initiative, they made “Final Inch”, 38-minute film to spread the message and to highlight the effort to eradicate polio. Google to offer a free tool to compete with comScore

Google plans to unveil a new service that measures Internet use, according to Wall Street Journal. The tool is intended to help advertisers identify the best places to buy online ads by telling them which Web sites their target audiences visit. Nielsen Online and comScore already gather data on Internet by using focus groups, surveys, etc., Google’s new offering will be based mostly on data from Web servers, allowing for a deeper and broader view of Internet use.
