There is a so many books are available in the market to learn and use some Java tools for that. I have been using Java 6 Illuminated This Java book last two years for my website project. You can take this book from the Google.

Java is huge and you will get frustrated if start with a huge book.I also use The Java Programming Language by Gosling et. al. It's maybe not that good to learn from but it's kind of the bible of Java.

Beginning Java 2 by Horton is the best book of java programming.I have read this book. Its a book that gets into lots of detail and sometimes gives examples that are complex.

Learning Java by Patrick Niemeyer, Jonathan Knudsen is a good one for beginners.

Head First Java by Kathy Sierra, Bert Bates is ok, but you will like it if you are a visual person.
