Here are some good tips I read/heard:

If you are flying east, you should start rising early days before you go in order to soak up as much sun as possible. (if you fly from U.S/Canada to India)

If you are headed west, spend time in a brightly lit space before you go to sleep. (if you fly from India to America)

Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water-coconut water which contains natural electrolytes, can help you rehydrate extra quickly

Most important: Avoid alcohol and caffeine.
